¡NUESTRO CENTRO VISITA LEIDEN EN HOLANDA!
Como ya hemos contado en otras ocasiones nuestro centro participa desde el curso pasado en un proyecto internacional ERASMUS+ KA2 "You are not alone", con escuelas de Holanda, Italia, Polonia y Portugal. Esta vez nos ha tocado visitar una escuela en Leiden, Holanda: 6 alumnos de 3º y 2º ESO junto con dos profesores. El viaje tuvo lugar del 8 al 13 de abril y dos de las alumnas que han realizado el viaje nos cuentan su experiencia.¡ No os perdáis el artículo!
As we have already told you before our school has participated since last year in an international project, KA2 "You are not alone" with schools from Holland, Italy, Polland and Portugal. This time we have visited a school in Leiden, Holland: 6 of our students. ESO 2 and 3 students and two teachers. The travel took place from 8th to 16th April and two of the students who did the travel are telling us their experience . Don't miss the article!!
HOLLAND, THE DREAM TRAVEL
Sincerely, Holland has never been part of our list “places to visit” but it has become part of the list “places to come back”. We have had this opportunity for an Erasmus + program “You’re not alone”.
The first day wasn’t very special. We were in airplanes almost all the day… Well! It wasn’t all the day as we arrived at 6 pm, but it was dinner time! We also met our host families and we were picked up by them.
Monday was our first day in the school. Probably, the weirdest thing was that we had was a toast with butter and chocolate sprinkles for breakfast. In the school, the participants made a presentation about their own countries.
On our third day, we have got used our new life. I wasn’t difficult! We went to the Ethnology museum and we were in a boat trip. Careful! You must duck your head when you are below a bridge.
On Wednesday, we saw the end was coming but we didn’t want to come back! We prepared typical meals. We visited the Keukenhof, a tulips garden opened only one month per year. It’s incredible how many flowers were there! Eight million flowers are planted every year.
Thursday ,in our opinion ,was one of the best days due to the fact that we improved our relationship with the foreign students, especially with the Portuguese ,with some amusing activities:
In the morning, we made” stroopwafels”! The stroopwafels are typical biscuits stuffed with caramel that are very luscious. Later, we had a funny music class with the Boomwhackers, plastic tubes with different sizes and colours. You have to hit them on the table, and depending of each tube, and you get the sound of a musical note. Owing to our short experience, we did noise instead of music...Ups!
In the evening, we had dinner in the school with the host families and the teachers. We also had a disco! And obviously, we turn on the song that it has marked our travel: Fitlala.
The last day, we went to school to say goodbye and we took a minibus that took us to Amsterdam, where we stayed until the afternoon visiting the most interesting places.
We didn't imagine that this trip will be as amazing as it has been. We have learnt, we have laughed and we have met incredible people that we will always remember. We have met a new fantastic family and new amazing friends, but not only foreigners but also people who we didn't know they are so fantastic. We have learnt that the place is not important if you go with the correct people. Probably, we don't speak perfect English but we are proud that we can communicate with other people who have a totally different language. We are thankful to have the option of living this experience and we would like to thank to all the people who made it possible. Travelling is the best form of learning, opening your mind and knowing yourself and the others.
To conclude, I have learnt, as the program says, WE'RE NOT ALONE.

HOLANDA, EL VIAJE DE ENSUEÑO
Sinceramente, Holanda nunca ha sido parte de nuestra lista de "lugares por visitar”, pero ha pasado a nuestra lista de "lugares a los que volver”. Nosotros hemos tenido esta oportunidad por un programa Erasmus +,"No estás solo".
El primer día no fue muy especial. Estuvimos entre aviones todo día... ¡Bueno! No fue todo el día, pero cuando llegamos a las 6 de tarde, ¡era la hora de la cena! Además, conocimos a nuestras familias de acogida, que nos recogieron.
El lunes fue nuestro primer día en el colegio. Probablemente, la cosa más extraña que tuvimos de desayuno fue una tostada con mantequilla y pepitas de chocolate. En el colegio, los extranjeros, hicieron una presentación de su país.
En el tercer día, ya nos habíamos acostumbrado a nuestra nueva vida. ¡No fue muy difícil! Fuimos al Museo de Etimología y fuimos a una excursión en barca. ¡Cuidado! Debes agachar tu cabeza cuando pases debajo de un puente.
El miércoles, comenzábamos a ver el final pero...¡No queríamos volver! Preparamos comidas típicas y visitamos el Keukenhof, un jardín de tulipanes abierto un mes al año.¡Es increíble cuántas flores hay allí! Ocho millones de flores son plantadas cada año.
El jueves, en nuestra opinión, fue uno de los mejores días debido al hecho de que mejoramos nuestra relación con los estudiantes extranjeros (especialmente con los portugueses) haciendo algunas actividades muy divertidas:
Por la mañana, ¡elaboramos stroopwafels! Las stroopwafels son galletas típicas rellenas con caramelo que están muy deliciosas. Después, tuvimos una clase de música muy divertida con los Boomwhackers, tubos de plástico de diferentes tamaños y colores. Los tienes que golpear contra la mesa, y dependiendo de cada tubo, sonará una nota musical distinta. Debido a nuestra corta experiencia, hicimos ruido en vez de música...¡Ups!
Por la tarde, tuvimos una cena en el colegio con los profesores y las familias de acogida. ¡También tuvimos una discoteca! Y obviamente, pusimos la canción de nuestro viaje: Fitlala.
El último día, fuimos al colegio para despedirnos y cogimos un minibús que nos llevó hasta Ámsterdam, donde nos quedamos hasta la tarde visitando los lugares más interesantes.
Nosotros no imaginábamos que este viaje iba a ser tan alucinante como ha sido. Hemos aprendido, reído y conocido gente increíble que siempre recordaremos. Conocimos una fantástica familia y nuevos amigos geniales, pero no solo extranjeros sino también gente que no sabíamos que son tan fantásticos. Hemos aprendido que el lugar no es importante si vas con las personas correctas. Probablemente, no hablamos inglés perfectamente pero nosotros estamos orgullosos de que nos hemos podido comunicar con otras personas que tienen una lengua totalmente diferente. Estamos agradecidos de haber tenido la posibilidad de vivir esta experiencia y nos gustaría agradecer a toda la gente que ha hecho esto posible. Viajar es la mejor forma de aprender, abrir tu mente y conocerte a ti mismo y a otros.
Para concluir, hemos aprendido, como el programa dice: NO ESTÁS SOLO.
